The Chester’s Chicken counter inside GS Truck Stop is hiring a cook. Chester’s is a brand program with real specifications — breading, fry times and hold times are all set, and following them exactly is most of the job.

Hours

The Chester’s counter is open 10 AM to 2 AM, seven days a week. Full-time and part-time day, evening and late shifts are available. Online ordering runs 10 AM to 10 PM daily and is busiest around meal times.

What you will do

  • Bread, fry and hold chicken, tenders, wings and sides to Chester’s brand specifications.
  • Follow hold times and discard rules exactly, so nothing goes out to a customer past its hold time.
  • Keep fryers, oil filtration, prep surfaces and the hot case clean and in working order.
  • Record temperatures and complete the food-safety logs on every shift.
  • Build online orders accurately and get them on the pickup shelf on time for customers and delivery drivers.
  • Keep the counter stocked with sides, sauces, cups and packaging.

What we are looking for

  • At least 18.
  • Comfortable working around fryers and hot oil, on your feet for a full shift, lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to follow a recipe card and a hold-time chart precisely — the brand standard is not negotiable.
  • Careful about cleanliness and food safety.
  • A food handler certificate is a plus; we will help you get one if you do not have it.

Education

No formal education requirement.

Experience

Previous fry cook, fast food or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred but not required — we train you on the Chester’s program.
